West Midlands Safari Park Welcomes Adorable Baby Giraffe
There’s a brand-new arrival at West Midlands Safari Park and she’s already melting hearts!
Say hello to Olive, the park’s first baby giraffe of 2026. Born to proud 14-year-old mum Arusha, this long-legged little star is settling in beautifully and getting ready to meet her visitors.
Planning a family day out? Don’t miss the chance to see Olive up close and watch her take her first steps into the world.
West Midlands Safari Park's Animal Attractions
There are loads of animals to see, and you'll have lots of opportunities to discover new animals and take some brilliant photos! The four-mile Safari Drive offers unparalleled views of some of the world's most amazing and endangered species, including big cats, wild dogs, antelope and much more. Safari Drive entry times can vary seasonally, so advance booking is recommended.
Get up close to other exotic animals like the groovy zebras, huge-horned Ankole cattle, Congo buffalos, the swamp-loving red lechwe and the eland - the largest of all antelope species. Explore the Wild Asia area with Indian rhinos, the Borderlands where you can spot the Bactrian camels and of course, the magnificent elephants. It's a safari drive like no other!
Explore the African Walking Trail and spot enormous African elephants, gaze at the elegant giraffes, and observe the impressive rhinos as they graze in their environment!
There's more to see in the Safari Walk areas too. From here set out on the all-weather Discovery Trail. It features daily Sea Lion talks and feeds, a rainbow of feathers at Lorikeet Landing and a healthy dose of the heebie-jeebies at Reptile World. Spot green anacondas and get up-close to creepy crawlies and marine life in the aquarium, as well as penguins at Penguin Cove and playful lemurs in walk-through habitats. That is before you find yourself lost in the Land of the Living Dinosaurs - the UK’s largest animatronic dinosaur exhibit with further prehistoric beasts to see next door in Ice Age.
Do you have a warm place in your heart for all creatures nocturnal? In the dark, damp depths of the Twilight Cave, families can uncover amazing animals like Rodrigues fruit bats and Seba's short-tailed bats. Did you see that?! The douroucouli (night monkey) just went by!
Enjoy daily animal talks at multiple enclosures around the park, including Penguin Cove or daily Lemur talks! Observe the fascinating Humboldt penguins as they emerge from the water to “chill” on their beach, and learn more about the animals and their conservation through engaging public talks held throughout the day.
Past the Theme Park, there's even more animals to see on foot, such as the impressive pod of hippos, Sumatran tiger family in Tiger Tropics and the magnificent lion brothers at Lion Ridge. There is also a chance to see playful meerkats and cheeky lemurs in the African Village.
VIP Experiences
You can also experience some VIP treatment and a VIP safari! From guided Safari tours and Ultimate VIP experiences to unforgettable keeper-for-a-day encounters with lemurs, meerkats and giraffes, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. With expert staff on hand throughout, you’re guaranteed a fun and memorable day out.
